Transforming agriculture in Saudi Arabia with Farm ERPs Smart Digital Solutions
Farm ERP, a service provider catering to farmers in Saudi Arabia, was struggling with outdated agricultural practices. Their farm management software was disorganized, making it difficult for farmers to track resources and monitor crop health effectively. The lack of real-time agricultural analytics and inefficient tracking processes led to slow decision-making and missed opportunities for better crop management. Farmers also faced challenges with the manual tracking of farming activities, resource allocation, and forecasting harvests, which often led to inefficiencies in their operations.

Without an efficient platform, farmers were unable to optimize their resource usage, leading to wastage of water, pesticides, and energy. The absence of a structured and automated system made it difficult to monitor crop health in real time, impacting yields and farm profitability. The slow feedback loop from agricultural experts meant that farmers couldn't address crop issues like pests or diseases quickly enough, resulting in potential crop damage. Additionally, outdated systems lacked scalability and were not equipped to handle the evolving needs of modern agri-tech and precision farming technology.
Solution:
To address these challenges, Icanio Technologies developed a comprehensive smart farming solution for Farm ERP that streamlined farming operations. The platform was designed to be user-friendly, with automated activity triggers, real-time expert feedback, and predictive analytics for harvest planning. Key features included:

  • Activity Triggering System: Automated notifications (via email, SMS, or WhatsApp) were implemented to ensure that farmers receive timely reminders about farming activities based on established practices for each crop.
  • Visual Sharing Platform: Farmers could share photos and videos of their crops with agricultural experts, enabling real-time feedback on crop health, pest issues, or nutritional needs.
  • Progress Monitoring: The system allowed farmers to track each stage of the crop cycle from planting to harvest, ensuring that all farming activities were completed according to the best practices.
  • Resource Management: The platform tracked water, energy, and pesticide usage for each crop, ensuring optimal resource application and preventing waste. This was achieved through smart resource management for farms, reducing unnecessary consumption.
  • Harvest Forecasting: The system included predictive analytics to forecast harvests, giving farmers insights into when their crops would be ready for market, helping them plan accordingly.
  • Comprehensive Logging: Every interaction, from instructions and photos to expert solutions, was logged, creating a detailed history of each farm’s journey.
Implementation:
The new system was rolled out with the following key steps:

  1. Integration of automated notifications: Email, SMS, and WhatsApp alerts were set up to trigger based on the farming schedule, ensuring that farmers never missed an important task.
  2. Visual sharing capabilities: A photo and video-sharing feature allowed farmers to interact directly with agricultural experts for real-time problem-solving, boosting decision-making speed.
  3. Progress tracking: The platform enabled farmers to monitor crop cycles step-by-step, improving their ability to manage resources and track growth stages.
  4. Resource management: Water, pesticide, and energy usage were automatically logged, reducing resource wastage and improving operational efficiency through AI-driven farm management.
  5. Harvest forecasting: By leveraging data analytics, the system helped predict harvest periods, enabling better planning for market readiness and supply chain coordination.
  6. Reports generation: The platform automatically generated detailed weekly and monthly progress reports, giving both farmers and stakeholders a clear view of farm activities and outcomes.
  7. Deviation alerts: If any activities deviated from established best practices, alerts were triggered, ensuring corrective actions could be taken immediately.
Results:
Farm ERP’s digital transformation led to significant improvements in operational efficiency and farm management. Farmers now had access to real-time data, expert insights, and predictive tools that allowed them to make better decisions. With a more streamlined process and automated features, Farm ERP’s platform enabled farmers to optimize their resources, improve crop yields, and enhance overall farm profitability.

Key results included:

  • Increased efficiency in resource management.
  • Improved crop health and reduced crop loss due to quicker identification of problems.
  • Enhanced scalability of farm operations, allowing for greater reach and improved services for farmers.
  • Higher engagement from farmers with the platform due to its ease of use and valuable feedback loops.

Project Introduction

The world’s first real-time marketing automation platform, is built on an Intelligent and Secure Customer Data Platform, orchestrating 1-to-1 personalization and cross-channel customer journeys at scale to increase conversion, retention, and growth for enterprises. What makes them stand out is that we own the relationship end-to-end, from solutioning to implementation, delivery, and reporting, ensuring you get the desired results from the platform.
  • Receive escalated tickets from L1 support and perform ticket triaging. Troubleshoot issues based on SOPs, including infrastructure, UI, data, and Rest API checks.
  • Conduct root cause analysis, document findings, and manage system/server configurations and maintenance.
  • Handle proactive alerts, review logs, monitor infrastructure, oversee server/app restarts, and ensure technical feasibility of proposed changes. Escalate to L3 support when necessary.

Challenges & Solutions

KEY CHALLENGES
SOLUTIONS
The main challenge they are facing is that bug fixing and enhancements are handled by only one team, which is responsible for both resolving issues and focusing on improvements.
To address this, we implemented a solution where we handle bug fixing, allowing them to focus on enhancements.
Due to the SLA, they are unable to fix the bug issue within the required timeframe.
So what we did was follow the deadlines and started fixing the issues.
